Should you use Makita drill bits with a Makita cordless drill?
In the big box stores I see Dewalt and other brand 70-100 piece drill bit sets for good prices. If I'm using a Makita should I search for Makita bits or would any brand bit work the same?
The main reason I'm curious is because when I was at Home Depot recently,the guy helping me said that the Bosch drills are picky with the fitting of other brand bits. That's what made me wonder if it applies to Makita too.

Unless you are talking about the big demolition drills then any bit will fit any drill that is big enough to hold it. You gotta watch those guys in the stores, sometimes they know what they are talking about, but a lot of the time they have no clue at all. I've been in Lowes and Home Depot a few times and watched them give horrible advice. Once they leave I usually go over and tell the customer the right way to do it.
