Frequently Asked Questions...
How can I tell what how much pounds/inch are in my Dewalt Cordless Drill DW929?
I need only 8lbs/in on a specific job. Does anyone have the specs on this drill on the lbs/in on each setting?
thanks
Answer:
Your question has gone a couple of days without an answer. I suspect that no one has answered it because you haven't made very clear exactly what you want to know. What do you mean by "8lbs/in"? You might also give a little more information about the drill so a person who does not own that particular model doesn't have to look up the specs. What voltage does it operate at? Is it a regular drill or a hammer drill? Is it a 1/4, 3/8, or a 1/2 inch drill? Does it have adjustable torque settings that allow the chuck to slip of the bit binds? What material are you trying to drill? How deep will the hole be and what is the diameter?
It sounds like you want to apply 8 lbs. of pressure per square inch as the bit does it's job. That is not very much pressure, even for a very cheap drill, much less a DeWalt brand drill.
If you are refering to 8 lbs. per square inch of resistance before the clutch slips and are wondering which clutch setting will accomplish this, I do not have your answer.
In the end, your drill will probably do the job you want it to do. The key is common sense, patience, and a good drill bit.
I hope this information helps. If you need additional information, you may want to provide more information and repost your question or you are welcome to e-mail me.
Good luck with your project.
